Founder

Born in Lomello (Pavia), she graduated with honours in Law on 13 December 1972 from the University of Pavia. She has been a member of the Italian Bar since 1975 and is admitted to practise before the Supreme Court of Cassation. She is also a member of the Bar Council of Pavia.

Formerly a researcher at the University of Pavia and, from 1986, Full Professor of Labour Law at the University of Turin, she became, in 1991, Full Professor of Labour Law at the University of Pavia’s Faculty of Law. On 20 January 2020, she was appointed Professor Emerita of Labour Law at the University of Pavia.

On 11 June 2022, Pope Francis appointed her as an Appellate Judge of the Tribunal of the Vatican City State. She founded and directed the Advanced Course in Labour Law at the University of Pavia until 2019. From the 2018/2019 academic year, she served as Adjunct Professor of Comparative Trade Union Law at Luiss Guido Carli University. Since 2025, she has been a lecturer on the ABI Master’s programme “Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management in the Banking and Financial Sector”. She is a certified specialist lawyer in labour law and social security law.

She has held a number of institutional appointments: from 2002 to 2009, she was a member of the Guarantee Commission for the implementation of the law on strikes in essential public services, also serving as editor of its periodical publication. She was also a member of the ministerial commission entrusted with drafting the “Workers’ Statute”, as well as of the ministerial commissions on the reform of social shock absorbers and on tackling in-work poverty.

From 2009 to 2012 and again from 2015 to 2018, she served on the executive board of the Italian Association of Labour Law and Social Security (A.I.D.L.a.S.S.). From 2013 to 2023, she was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Employment Lawyers Association (AGI).

Alongside her legal practice, she pursues extensive research and editorial activity. She is the Italy reporter for the International Labour Law Reports (Kluwer); Co-Editor of Diritto delle Relazioni Industriali (Giuffrè); a member of the referees’ committee of Diritti Lavori Mercati (Esi); a member of the scientific committee of Argomenti di diritto del lavoro (La Tribuna); a member of the editorial board of the Massimario di Giurisprudenza del Lavoro; a member of the evaluation committee of Variazioni su temi di Diritto del Lavoro (Giappichelli); a member of the board of guarantors of Labor (Pacini Giuridica); and a member of the Biagi–D’Antona Committee.

She is the author of numerous publications on trade union law, labour law and social security law, including the textbook Diritto sindacale, Giappichelli, Turin, 2024, 5th ed., and the textbook Diritto del lavoro, Giappichelli, Turin, 2025, 4th ed.

Her professional practice covers all areas of labour law, assisting both employers and employees in disputes relating to individual employment relationships, trade union law, public employment and social security law.

Lawyers

Born in Pavia, she graduated with honours in Law from the University of Pavia in 1993.

Since January 1998, she has been a member of the Pavia Bar Association, and since 2011 she has been admitted to practise before the Italian Supreme Court.

In 1999, she obtained a PhD in Labour Law and Industrial Relations from the University of Pavia. In the same year, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Cambridge (UK) as part of a research project funded by the CNR, focusing in particular on issues relating to social security, welfare and the welfare state.

In 2000 and 2001, she was awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship in Labour Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavia.

She taught on the professional training course for Commercial Agents and Representatives organised by “PaviaSviluppo – Centre for Training, Information, Research and Services” at the Pavia Chamber of Commerce from 2000 to 2023.

She has been collaborating with Studio Legale Magnani since 1993.

He graduated with honours in Law from the University of Pavia on 4 July 2012.

He obtained a PhD in Labour Law and Industrial Relations from the University of Pavia on 3 February 2017.

In the academic years 2013/2014 and 2014/2015, he served as tutor for the Labour Law course.

Since January 2013, he has been a member of the Commission for the Certification of Employment Contracts established at the Department of Law of the University of Pavia.

He has been collaborating with Studio Legale Magnani since February 2013.

Since January 2016, he has been admitted to the Bar, and in June 2022 he obtained the qualification of Specialist Lawyer in Labour Law and Social Security Law.
